Liz Logan’s Background
Liz completed her nursing degree at the University of Central Florida (UCF), graduating at the top of her class for both her undergraduate and graduate programs.
She went on to run a lung cancer screening program as well as an infusion clinic. Liz also founded and managed a lung nodule program and actively contributed to research studies.
As a member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN+), she’s also well-versed in helping patients enroll in clinical trials to access the latest cancer treatments — one of many skills that will be beneficial to the Mesothelioma Hope community.
Marrying Passion With Purpose
Liz knew early on she wanted to help people in her life. Her aunt, who was like a second mother to her, developed lung cancer when Liz was young. She would accompany her aunt to chemotherapy appointments, keeping her company during long treatments.
Inspired by the compassionate and knowledgeable nurses who cared for her aunt, Liz pursued a career in the medical field that would allow her to offer that same support to others fighting a cancer diagnosis.
“I knew I wanted to be a nurse from a young age due to a deep-rooted desire to care for people, make a positive difference in their lives, and provide comfort during challenging times.”
Later on, one of the most meaningful moments in her career was guiding a patient from the very first sign of a lung tumor through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The patient later thanked Liz for standing by her every step of the way.
