Dr. Linda Garland’s Mesothelioma Treatment Approach

Dr. Linda Garland and her team can use several different options to treat mesothelioma and help patients live longer.

She specializes in using chemotherapy to treat pleural mesothelioma. With different types of chemotherapy, cancer tumors can be shrunk and destroyed, allowing the patient to live longer and have a higher quality of life.

Dr. Garland emphasizes the importance of tailoring treatment to the specific needs of each patient.

University of Arizona Cancer Center patients can also receive additional cancer treatments like surgery and radiation. Combining treatments allows more of the cancer to be destroyed and gives patients a better chance of living longer.

For example, doctors can remove mesothelioma tumors that were shrunk by chemotherapy more effectively with surgery.
