David Rosedale’s Mesothelioma Journey | Mesothelioma Hope

Duration: 2:25 Category: Survivor Stories Show Transcript

I started working on stuff when I was seven years old. I worked on a Pontiac Tempest and did a head gasket when I was seven. I worked on big trucks, farm tractors, and automobiles. My name is David Rosedale, and I got mesothelioma working on equipment, which included brakes, clutches, and gaskets. I started at a young age and have been doing it my whole life.

I went into urgent care because I was having a hard time breathing. I thought maybe it was allergies, but when I went to urgent care, they said my left lung was collapsed. They rushed me to the hospital, where I was admitted. The doctors drained two liters of fluid from my left lung. A biopsy was done, and it came back positive for mesothelioma.

The doctor who told me I had mesothelioma said I needed to get a lawyer. I happened to look at my phone and saw an ad on TV, so I called the number while I was in the doctor’s office. Simmons Hanly Conroy sent a team out in basically a day to take my statement and assess the situation. They got right on it and handled my case professionally.

Filing a lawsuit was worth it because mesothelioma is a life-altering experience. Without compensation, you’re pretty much lost. I decided to pursue the lawsuit because I needed to provide for my family, and I was no longer going to be able to work. Hiring Simmons Hanly Conroy was a good decision to get the outcome we desired.

To me, the Simmons difference is having the money to continue with cancer treatment and travel. Without it, it would have been a nightmare. While I was going through treatment, the legal team worked around my medical appointments and was conscious of my health concerns, making the process much easier.

I would recommend that anyone who is a victim of this pursue litigation because the big companies knew about this problem long ago. They continued using the product because of monetary concerns. The product is still being imported from overseas—it hasn’t stopped. The damage it causes is irreversible, and you only have one life, so you want to do the best you can for your family.
