Each month, Mesothelioma Hope brings patients, caregivers, and loved ones together online for a guided conversation where they can share experiences, find encouragement, and connect with others facing mesothelioma.

Living with mesothelioma can feel overwhelming, but no one has to face it alone. Mesothelioma Hope invites mesothelioma patients, caregivers, and family members to join its next virtual support group meeting on March 18 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

The monthly Mesothelioma Hope Support Group provides a safe, welcoming space where people affected by this rare cancer can connect with others who understand the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and caregiving. Participants can share experiences, ask questions, and gain encouragement from others in the mesothelioma community.

A Mesothelioma Support Group for Patients and Caregivers

Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive cancer caused by asbestos exposure, with roughly 3,000 new cases diagnosed in the United States each year. For many families, the emotional and practical challenges of treatment can feel isolating.

The Mesothelioma Hope Support Group was created to help patients and caregivers connect with others who understand what they are going through. Each session offers an opportunity to talk about personal experiences, discuss coping strategies, and hear how others are navigating their own journeys.

Some participants join the conversation, while others prefer to listen. Cameras are optional, and no one is required to speak during the meeting.

Led by Licensed Oncology Support Professionals

The virtual support group is moderated by oncology social worker Lindsey Rotnem, LISW, with additional guidance from oncology nurse navigator Liz Logan, RN. Their professional experience helps ensure discussions remain supportive and informative.

“In my role with Mesothelioma Hope, my goal is to create a supportive atmosphere where patients feel less isolated and can develop healthy coping skills,” Rotnem said.

Participants may discuss topics such as:

  • Coping with the emotional impact of mesothelioma
  • Navigating treatment decisions
  • Supporting caregivers and family members
  • Maintaining quality of life during and after treatment

Conversations are guided by what the group wants to discuss and the issues they’re facing at the time.

How to Join the March 18 Mesothelioma Support Group

Patients, caregivers, and loved ones interested in attending can register through the Mesothelioma Hope Support Group page.

After registering, participants will receive instructions on joining the secure virtual meeting. Because each session takes place online, people from across the country can easily participate from the comfort of home.
